Kinesiology is the study of the dynamics[1] of human movement and its components (anatomical, physiological, neurological, biochemical, biomechanical, neuromotor, psychological) in interaction with the environment.

In simpler terms, we can say that kinesiology is also defined as human kinetics, or the scientific study of human movement. The term comes from the Greek word kinesis, which means "to move."

Kinesiology consists of several fields of study that, in their own right, could each form an independent profession (e.g., physiologist, biomechanist, neurologist). In Canada, we have chosen to group together all the professions that focus on aspects of human locomotion.

Since graduating from Salford University England in 2007 as a Chartered Physiotherapist, Coz has specialised in musculoskeletal therapy. She has had fantastic opportunities to gain experience within both private hospital and clinical practices, as well as grass roots to high level sports, providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation for Bolton Metro Swim Squad, Eccles Rugby Club, Waterloo Rugby Club, Scotland Exiles Rugby, Lancashire Women’s Rugby team, North West Women’s Rugby Team and Cheshire U16 Rugby Team. Within her private practice work she has had the opportunity to work alongside some top class surgeons and develop her physiotherapy skills further, especially with post operative protocols. She has also loved working in clinic, where she gets to form a real rapport with her patients, helping to achieve their goals and return to activities they thought were long gone. Another pleasure while working in a previous job, was working with Tennis players on the LTA pathway, and every year providing the physiotherapy for an international wheelchair tournament, full of multi Paralympic champions, which she enjoyed being a part of. Her work in sport has ranged from working and coaching beginners in swimming (both kids and adults), to working with national level swimmers, not just from a coaching aspect but being able to bring her PT knowledge into their training and recovery. Then her sporting focus became Rugby, where again she provided therapy to both brand new players, all the way up to those that play internationally, including working with Olympians. Working with both Junior, Men’s and Women’s teams enabled her to always adapt to her audience, always changing with the requirements and keeping it interesting for all involved. Her areas of interest are hands on therapy techniques and developing interesting individual rehabilitation programmes, keeping the exercises enjoyable and related to what the patient wants to achieve. In her personal life she is a mum to preschool twin girls, who always keep her on her toes and busy. Coz swam at national level until the age of 18, regularly representing her county of Lancashire. She then had the honour to play on the rugby pitch, playing for Waterloo Ladies, Lancashire Ladies and the North of England. In January 2020 she emigrated to Canada and have recently moved to the Fraser Valley where new adventures await her and her family.
